By subscribing to GiG, customers will get the advantage of full fiber optic [connections] in the form of unlimited, reliable and stable internet connection starting from 15MBps for an improved digital experience.
"This is the continuation of our mission at Indosat Ooredoo to build Digital Nation. With the presence of GiG, we are trying to provide better access for Indonesian homes so families will be well connected to the digital world and enjoy digital entertainment together." Said President Director & CEO Indosat Ooredoo, Alexander Rusli. "We realize that all journeys start from home, which is why GiG can be an integrated solution that changes our customers' lifestyles to have digitally connected residences."
GiG customers have the option of several Google products with plan subscriptions: Chromecast, Chromebook, and Google Drive. Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device that allows users to cast what is on their smartphones and tablets onto their TVs. Families can enjoy HD videos from YouTube and a variety of other content providers, using their smartphones as the remote. For the first time ever, Chromecast is available in Indonesia. Chromebook is a new kind of laptop, designed to be fast, secure, and easy to use. It is great for both work and for play. Google Drive allows families to access their photos, music, files, and more - anytime and from any device.
"Currently, Indonesian families tend to enjoy their entertainment alone in their room through TV or gadgets. We want to bring families back to interacting in the living room while enjoying digital media. With Chromecast, families can enjoy movies, TV shows, music and games together," said Alexander. "With devices like Chromecast and access to internet service that can support them, we see technology uniting people rather than separating them."
"The launch of GiG is a major step for Indonesia's digital transformation. With Indosat's newest internet service, Indonesians can fully enjoy the Google experience with Chromecast, Chromebooks and Google Drive. There is much to look forward to as more Indonesians are able to access the full benefits of what the web has to offer with powerful connections and products." Said Veronica Utami, Head of Marketing, Google Indonesia.
With a GiG subscription, customers will receive internet packages with Google Chromecast and 50GB of Google Drive storage at no additional expense. In addition to Chromecast and Google Drive, Google Chromebooks are also available with certain speed package bundles. At this time, this bundle of products is only available with GiG subscriptions in Indonesia.
There has been enthusiasm around GiG for the last nine months particularly in high residential areas such as apartments in Jabodetabek and Bandung. This year, GiG will also broaden their services to other big cities like Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Balikpapan and Bali in highrise residential building and housing complexes.
